Mindfulness Training Improve productivity, well-being and happiness

Mindfulness Training is a practical, step by step method for achieving improved concentration and focus, which in turn result in reduced stress levels and increased self-confidence.

 

In the workplace this means higher productivity, lower absentee levels and fewer conflicts. For individuals it means greater happiness and higher levels of satisfaction than our lives normally give us.

 

Anyone can do it simply because each of us has the potential to continue developing and transforming, from birth right up until death. So, everyone can benefit from Mindfulness Training.

 

The course begins by proving that despite what we may think, we're not in control of our minds. This is a simple five-minute exercise in which participants are asked to relax and clear their minds, i.e. not think of anything at all. It sounds easy and simple, but it's not – because you can't switch your mind off. Not only that, your mind jumps continuously from one thing to another, and it looks as if there’s nothing you can do to stop it.

 

But, fortunately, that's not the case. Mindfulness Training is a series of methods that helps us gain control of our own minds, so that our attention stays where we put it. The result? More focus. Less distraction. More calm, more attention – and suddenly you find you're happier, too.

Course trainer Mark Gatter has practised Mindfulness Training for over 35 years in both the USA and the UK. Until recently he was the director of a 43-acre rural retreat centre situated in Northumberland’s National Park. He was a Buddhist monk for over six years and his teachers include the Dalai Lama and many other great meditators in the Tibetan tradition. However, this course is taught in a completely secular way. Whether or you are a follower of a religion or not makes no difference at all. In order to benefit, all you need is...a mind.
